
Alexa Shae Niziak is an actor, singer and dancer who performs on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in film, and television. At age 11, Alexa made her Broadway debut as Mary Beth in the Tony-nominated A Christmas Story the Musical. In other Broadway performances Alexa played one of the "no-neck monsters" in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and performed for eighteen-months in the Tony award-winning show Matilda the Musical.
Alexa has also performed at Madison Square Garden and in three Off-Broadway premieres where she received rave reviews in the New York Times for her role in the world premiere of The Thing With Feathers. In addition to securing two IRNE nominations and traveling the country on two national Broadway tours, Alexa performed a musical duet with Kelli O’Hara in Far From Heaven at The Williamstown Theatre Festival. In other roles, Alexa played a teen lured into an online predatory scheme, a trouble-making Irish schoolgirl, the iconic Scout in To Kill A Mockingbird, and Jane Banks in Mary Poppins.
Alexa’s foray into television began in Peter Farrelly's NBC Thanksgiving Showdown commercial. She then represented A Christmas Story the Musical at the 67th Annual Tony Awards and performed alongside Neil Patrick Harris in one of TV’s most highly rated opening numbers. In Orange is the New Black, Alexa sang the first musical number ever performed on the show. Alexa has also performed the lead in two award-winning films, the most recent of which won the 2019 Sarasota Independent Vision Jury Prize. Most recently, Alexa was seen in USA's The Sinner and Evil on CBS. She will next appear in HBO's television series Love Life, starring Anna Kendrick.
Alexa is classically trained in ballet, has performed with the New York City Ballet, and continues to train in a variety of dance at Broadway Dance Center. Alexa receives musical instruction in voice, plays piano and ukulele and enjoys composing lyrics. She is proficient in American Sign Language and in Irish, Southern, British, and Austrian dialects. Alexa looks forward to being part of another great play, television series or film.
